Jake received his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut and his graduate degrees from the University of Florida ('88, '92), where he majored in reproductive physiology. He spent 26 years in higher education teaching, conducting biomedical research and serving in administration. He's received two university teaching awards, a graduate research mentorship award, two student government association leadership awards and has served as the principal investigator on two National Science Foundation teacher/scholar mentorship grants.
